Broward still counting votes, but elections supervisor doesn't know how many are left

Source: Florida Sun Sentinel

.
th a razor-thin margin separating Senate candidates Rick Scott and Bill Nelson, Broward County — a Democratic bastion — was still counting votes Wednesday night, with no idea how many are left.

"I can't give you an exact number. I'm not sure. I'm really not sure," Broward Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes said a few hours earlier.

Broward election officials said repeatedly that they didn't know how many mail-in ballots were still being counted.

Snipes said they would continue processing the ballots until they were finished — even if they had to stay all night.

Winner takes all violates that.

And many states, including Florida, have ambiguity in their "Winner takes all" efforts.

Florida is a winner-take-all voting state for Republicans, but is a proportional voting state for Democrats. Trump won the Republican presidential primary in Florida, while Clinton won the Democratic primary in the state.

state with a good number of electoral votes and usually considered a swing state, Florida is certainly a disgrace when it comes to dealing with ballot counting. Why can't they count ballots? No conspiracy theories, please. I'm honestly curious as to why these people can't get votes counted accurately and timely. Broward County is not the backwoods, nor are most of the other counties we hear about what seems like every. single. election.

If you voted via provisional ballot because you forgot your ID, you have until 5 P.M. TODAY to bring your ID to your county supervisor of elections and make your ballot count.
