Ben & Jerrys unveiled a new limited edition ice cream flavor on Tuesday to celebrate the Womens March and combat what the company called President Trumps "regressive agenda."
Pecan Resist is a new campaign to lick injustice and champion those fighting to create a more just and equitable nation for us all, the company said in a statement.
The company cannot be silent in the face of President Trumps policies that attack and attempt to roll back decades of progress on racial and gender equity, climate change, LGBTQ rights, and refugee and immigrant rights all issues that have been at the core of the companys social mission for 40 years, Ben & Jerrys said.

The leaders of the group also led efforts to combat the controversial confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh following allegations of sexual misconduct. Dozens of protesters associated with the Womens March were arrested during Kavanaughs confirmation process. Kavanaugh denied the allegations.
Ben & Jerrys is donating $25,000 to the organization, as well as the social justice groups Color of Change, Honor the Earth and Neta.

Oh YUM!

(76 posts)they would ditch dairy and go fully vegan. Also, there is not an animal on this Earth that is more oppressed and exploited than a dairy cow.
I applaud them for donating and brining awareness, but it is pretty hypocritical when they themselves are trashing the environment and exploiting sentient beings.

(10,476 posts)We can do without the Wavy Gravy stuff, thanks.
I support all Democrats running for office in all elections, and also enjoy tasty steaks, chicken tenders, and a tall, cold glass of milk.
We can do both, it's ok.

(2,840 posts)Usually, their names for different flavours have some sort of word play, like Cherry Garcia or something similar. I don't get this one.
