Lawyer for mail bomb suspect's family: 'He found a father in Trump

Source: The Hill

A lawyer for the family of Cesar Sayoc Jr., the man charged with mailing explosive devices to several prominent Democratic figures this week, said Friday that Sayoc "found a father" in President Trump.

Miami lawyer Ronald Lowy made the comments on CNN while discussing the arrest of Sayoc, someone he said he had represented in past cases and whom he described as a "sick individual" who seemed "lost" and needed help.

"He was looking for anything, and he found a father in Trump," Lowy said, noting that the man's father "abandoned him as a child" and "he was trying to create an identity."

Lowy said that he believes Sayoc was attracted to Trump’s messaging, which included reaching out to “outsiders” and “people who are angry at America.”

Low skill factory work that provided millions of relatively un-educated workers with a living wage is an era that is history. These people find that they have no marketable skills in todays economy. The situation will only worsen when demagogues, such as Trump, make promises that are an impossibility. Our leadership rather than analyzing the situation and take action to met the demands of the present and future mislead the people into believing that they will actually do something magically to turn back the clock. I see very little hope for significant change until the situation has become catastrophic and the people come to the realization that they have been duped by politicians whose only concern is their reelection.

My inlaws chose to retire near the Ozarks where there's plenty of this type of people - predominantly WASPs. Many there have inherited their homes/land from their ancestors who've lived there for over 100 years and come from an agrarian background, or work in a plant or factory in town. They fear change, and in seeing their way of life dying out, lash back at the government and "liberals" (the word has a bad connotation in their limited view of course) for their plight. The way they see it, it's not them that's the problem, it's everyone else's, and that someone's got to pay for it.

The even sadder thing is i have well-educated WASP work colleagues who think trump is their savior. All that learning didn't teach them a damn thing about seeing diversity as a good thing. They raged when Obama was elected and reelected. They've been gloating since the DOTUS stole the election and continues on his rampage of wreaking havoc on our democracy, and they're fighting hard to keep the lunacy in place. White privilege is alive and well in this day and age.

Can anyone point out a left wing extremist who mailed a bomb, or shot a minority, or occupied government land with automatic weapons?

Right wing extremists want people dead. Left wing "extremists" want to give people healthcare.

But CNN must adhere to both-siderism...

Thanks to Trump and his supporter's hateful and divisive rhetoric he was pushed over the edge. We are lucky that he wasn't all there, otherwise he may have had more success with his attempts.

Just like religion, another way to escape human fears and emotional emptiness. Always a charismatic leader, father/god figure, bubble mentality and tons of symbolism (see the van).

Greed, hunger for power and psychopathic behavior are almost always found at the heart of cults - concealed as patriotism, nationalism and/or flim-flam religion.

All you need to do is get him on Fox News, let him complain about how Hillary Clinton got away with murder, then Trump might pardon him on a whim.
