2. The primary place that generally has "legal" open borders between nations is the EU.

The problem here is that someone in charge has deemed that those seeking asylum here are no longer allowed to do so - but only if they come from certain areas of the world.

9. Tiny is confusing 'open borders' with legally seeking asylum
Wed Oct 24, 2018, 09:54 AM

President Obama NEVER said he favored open borders, which is what Tiny is claiming all Democrats want.

The lie that Tiny is foisting on his base is that it's somehow illegal for people and families to seek asylum in the U.S. based on their situation (poverty, persecution, etc.).

13. To trumpsters opposition to the border wall equals supporting open borders.

So if you don't want to waste over 20 billion dollars on a cost to cost border wall, that can be defeated by a ladder, you believe in open borders. The lack of logic amazes me.

There is so much more that we can do with that money, for health care, education, reducing poverty. But these idiots have to have that worthless wall.

14. People are fleeing for their lives.

I doubt that anybody believes there should be no border protection. Republicans and Democrats alike all agree. So why can’t our elected officials address the problem in a rational, meaningful way to work out a solution? Lord knows, they’ve had untold years of wasting time, and now, since the situation has become atomic, they are in panic mode because of their inability to govern. Reactive due to negligence. Lack of leadership from both parties.

If people are fleeing their countries in droves because they fear for their lives, then maybe we should be working with those countries corrupt fascist dictators to help them bring about peaceful existence. Ya, I know. CIA intervention, plots, subplots, payoffs, bribes, threats and all of the other stuff associated with covert activities to gain influence. Sounds like old school maneuvering. Overt and covert operations have done little good other than to enrich one or two “leaders” to the detriment of the many.

It’s time to rethink the game plan. Start at the source. Free and fair elections in the countries people are fleeing from, if there is such a thing anymore. As for now, and the mess we’ve created by hiding our heads in the sand, good frickin luck. We’ll have rebellion in this country before the immegrant dilemma is solved because we now have our very own fascist dictator in the Oval Office, and that guy and his loyal minions aren’t about to let it go without a fight bigger than we care to think about.

16. Democrats favored a comprehensive immigration plan that tightened boarders

Along with a lot of other common sense ideas. So did the Republican Senate.

Trump could not let that happen and destroy his best message to his racist base so the house killed it.

Hell, it may have passed the House. But due to the Child Molester Rule(Hastert rule) Ryan never allowed a vote.
