Aide to Felder placed on leave after charges of groping lobbyist (NY)

A top aide to Brooklyn state Sen. Simcha Felder was placed on administrative leave on Tuesday after allegations that he groped a lobbyist at a political fundraiser in Albany.
The state Senate and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office are both investigating charges against Rodney Powis, 48, according to the Wall Street Journal. The lobbyist, who asked for her name to be withheld, said she met Powis at an event last Thursday night in the Albany suburb of Guilderland.
The lobbyist told the Journal that Powis was “very drunk” and told her that her dress made her look “smokin’ hot” and that he wanted to kiss her. He then allegedly groped her breast.
“These are serious allegations and were reported immediately,” Felder said in a statement on Tuesday. “He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.”
