NYT: Condo owners vote to strip Trump name from building
Source: Associated Press
NEW YORK (AP) Another building is stripping Trump off its entrance.
The New York Times reported Wednesday that residents of Trump Place on the Upper West Side of Manhattan have joined three other buildings in the neighborhood in stripping the presidents brassy five-letter name from their 46-story building in another sign that the brand is losing some of its appeal.
The move follows reports of losses at some of President Donald Trumps golf courses, and decisions by several hotels that had licensed the presidents name to drop it.
After more than a quarter century, Trump Plaza will now be known only by its address, 200 Riverside Boulevard.
The name had become controversial among the buildings residents during Trumps campaign and presidency. Owners in the 377-unit tower were worried about the resale value of their condos and also raised concerns about security in condo meetings. But potential legal and other costs of removing Trumps name kept some from pushing harder for a change.

(4,919 posts)Those buildings are and always have been an eyesore that blocked a nice view of the Hudson River, but will be less so. Driving the West Side Highway will be less aggravating with that fracking name removed.

(9,696 posts)There are a bunch of condos (actually quite a lot) for sale at Fashion Square which is the building that has the trumpft name on it. Funny how none of the condo ads say trumpft building, I only saw one or two photos that show the building with the trumpft name on it, the rest seem to conveniently leave that photo out.
And, there's also a condo for sale on tiger woods drive...

(51,615 posts)have taken large losses when they try to sell. Keith Olbermann sold his at a loss last year. I heard one couple say that their daughter's friends wouldn't visit their home anymore and that is when they had enough finally and listed it but couldn't unload it, even at a huge loss.

(21,596 posts)The buyers didnt seem to mind living in a building named after a tacky, shady, mobbed up, grifter con man until now?
Boo fucking boo.
Edit: It is a good thing that the Trump brand is becoming more toxic by the day.
