Lawsuit: Man convicted after mother rejected 'dirty cop'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Kansas man who spent 23 years in prison for a double murder he didn't commit was targeted because his mother rebuffed a homicide detective's sexual advances and was convicted after a bogus police investigation, according to a lawsuit .

Lamonte McIntyre, 42, and his 64-year-old mother Rose Lee McIntyre filed the lawsuit Thursday in federal court.

McIntyre was 17 in 1994 when he was arrested in Kansas City in the deaths of 21-year-old Doniel Quinn and 34-year-old Donald Ewing. They were shot
in broad daylight in a drug-infested neighborhood. McIntyre was sentenced to two life sentences in their deaths, but he was freed last year after the district attorney found he had been subject to a "manifest injustice" in the case.

No physical evidence linked McIntyre to the crime and he didn't know the victims. The suit blames his arrest on a "dirty cop " identified as Roger Golubski, who "used the power of his badge to exploit vulnerable black women."

Man wrongfully convicted of murder released after 23 years in US jail

Washington (dpa) – A man who served 23 years in jail after being wrongfully convicted of a double murder was set free Friday in the US state of Kansas, local media reported.

Lamonte McIntyre, who was arrested when he was 17 and tried when he was 18, had been given two life sentences for the murders of two men who were shot while sitting in a blue Cadillac in Kansas City, the Kansas City Star reported.

McIntyre was convicted despite a lack of physical evidence tying him to the crime and despite alibis provided by his family that he was at home on the day of the murders, The Star said.

How horrible! 23 years in prison based on the report of a dirty cop! A report and no other evidence!

And a POS like Kavanaugh goes to the Supreme Court!

Golubski's assets will be turned over, leaving him with nothing.

These type never do. Prosecutors will not go after him. The local cops won’t care about it. Most of them will probably say something sexist about the mother.
And the wheel keeps turning, and people keep getting crushed.

BUT they did not stop me till I parked at my apartment, one of the cops had me show him my apartment, then the cop offered me sex instead of a charge.

I refused..I hired a lawyer, who I told about the sexual component, but I never saw him (the lawyer) again till my court date, and he said my drunk driving was reduced to careless driving, and that I should accept it!

Which I did...but I was pissed!

P.S. I was probably drunk, (over the limit) but they never administered any test!

To this day I still hate my then lawyer!

That's the thing that gets me about these cases. Not only did the wrongfully convicted lose their freedom for decades, but the real killer is still out there.
