Scott Wagner to Gov. Tom Wolf: 'I'm going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes'

Source: Harrisburg Patriot News

In a bizarre turn, Republican governor candidate Scott Wagner threatened to "stomp all over" Gov. Tom Wolf's "face with golf spikes" as his temper boiled over about attack commercials posted by the Democratic incumbent campaign.

Wagner, of York County, made his remarks in a video posted to his campaign's official Facebook page on Friday. By midday, the video had been viewed more than 4,000 times and became a subject of intense discussion on Twitter.

Tensions between the two camps have escalated as the race moves into its final three weeks. Wagner, who trails Wolf by double-digits in most public polls, has called for additional debates between himself and Wolf. Wolf has refused.

"You know what's interesting? You don't want to do town hall meetings. You don't want to do debates," Wagner says in the video. "Your campaign people said I raised the white flag?

Pennsylvania has a few interesting Republicans in its history (at least as far as I remember the political scene here). The 2 Republican senators I remember most are Hugh Scott (from the "Golden Age" of the Senate in the 50's) and John Heinz, who was lost in a helicopter crash in 1991.
Ironically enough, Sen. Heinz's widow went on to marry John Kerry - imagine that!
Truth be known, I can't imagine either of these gentlemen (Scott/Heinz) being a part of what has become the Republican party as it is today.
America's loss, for sure.

If John Heinz had lived to run for President I probably would have voted for him. I was an independent in those days and I still believed (not any more) that some day there might be a Republican presidential candidate that I would vote for.

Well guess what? There never was. I would have voted for Heinz and probably Nelson Rockefeller. But sadly neither man had the opportunity because they both died too young. I became a Democrat in 2008 because I wanted to vote for Hillary in the primary, and I've never regretted that decision.

Alas - Scott & Heinz are both dinosaurs - there is no such thing as a "moderate" or "liberal" Republican.

Rubber "spikes" are the rule at most places. They won't rip up the clubhouse carpet, won't tear up the greens, won't damage a political opponent's face.

Empty threat...

The funniest was the one after Wolf had run an ad saying Wagner planned to tax retirement income (a first for the state), then Wagner ran an ad denying it. Wolf's campaign was ready to pounce. The immediate response ad was video showing Wagner saying exactly that he would consider taxing retirement income.
I haven't seen any Wagner campaign ads lately, but assume some will pop up the last week or so of Oct.

I'm a labor Democrat in PA, and I'd just love to see Wagner or Turzai TRY to get tough with my Dem elected officials, while I'm around.

The same repuglican assholes whined about how there were 'credible security threats' that we were preparing to riot in Pittsburgh, if Rump fired Mueller or Rosenstein.

They're lying swine, openly threatening felonies, then screaming and crying about how normal Americans make them 'feel threatened'.
