CAIRO (AP) — Melania Trump says she has, at times, told the president to put his phone down. And she says she doesn’t always agree with what he tweets.

The U.S. first lady spoke briefly with reporters Saturday as she was wrapping up a four-country tour of Africa with a visit to the pyramids and the Great Sphinx in Egypt. Standing in front of the Sphinx, Mrs. Trump said makes her opinions clear with her husband.

“I don’t always agree what he tweets,” she said in a rare, unscripted interaction with reporters. “And I tell him that. I give him my honest opinion and honest advice. And sometimes he listens and sometimes he doesn’t. But I have my own voice and my opinions and it’s very important for me that I express what I feel.”

As for whether she’s ever told him to put his phone down, she said, “yes,” with a laugh.

where she is meeting with heads of state in nations called s**thole countries by her husband, she is dressing in the most disrespectful way I have ever seen her dress. On every other occasion both here and abroad, she dresses almost 'to the nines', and wears very stylish (and usually respectful, non-sleezy), attractive, and expensive clothing. This time, she chose to take garments that resemble what we used to call 'house coats' (cheap, borderline bathrobes, that ladies wore for cleaning around the house, in the 50s) and something resembling a safari suit – which she wore while seated in the presidential office of Egypt, a Moslem nation. These are not just garments: they are statements of disrespect and glaring indifference. Thus, they are deeds. Showing African school children how to walk in a sexualized manner was also disrespectful of both her role and their destiny.

She did not need to wear outfits that cost tens of thousands of dollars to do this, merely to have worn attractive dresses that are not measurably cheap and clearly frumpy-looking – and not clearly out of sync with the way in which she presents herself for other occasions. She would have done better to have stayed at home.

If Michelle Obama had gone to Africa and dressed like Melania dressed on the occasions in question, the right-wing would have eaten her for lunch and spit her out. I'm merely asking that Melania respect her own role as a representative of our country when she travels abroad as first lady, as well as respecting the cultural sensitivities of the people she visits. I have no doubt that the people in Africa noticed clearly what I am talking about.

She wore the "I don't care" jacket...well, that's wearing.
She wore high heels to garden, obviously never having done it before. Wearing again.
She visited children in refugee cages and her response seemed to sum up as "Oh you have your own room!" (paraphrased, I don't remember)
She walks beside her husband, occasionally refusing to hold hands or smirking when he looks away.
She posed nude. Again...wearing/not wearing.
She occasionally puts out a press release that bullying is bad. Whatever, fix your own glass white house.
Perhaps, as a model, she considers standing around decoratively in clothes as "doing something" but whatever.
