FBI reaches out to Deborah Ramirez, a woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh
Source: Washington Post
The FBI has begun contacting people as part of an additional background investigation of Kavanaugh, according to people familiar with the unfolding investigation.
It was not clear whether agents had yet interviewed Ramirez, who was classmates with Kavanaugh at Yale.
The FBI is moving quickly in the investigation, which President Trump ordered Friday under pressure from key members of his party.
This is a developing story. It will be updated.

(14,838 posts)I would already have a list of every girl that attended an area prep school during 82 and 83. I'd ask them if they ever heard of gang rape, if they ever saw evidence of it occurring, and if they were ever victimized.
I'd pay extra attention to any women who left school and didn't return, or who left for an extended absence.
There is an awful stench coming from the ground. It wouldn't take a lot of digging to unearth whatever is causing it.

He blatantly lied yesterday about something that doesn't take an investigation. His staff said he watch Dr. Ford's testimony in the morning, but when asked during his part of the hearing he said he wanted didn't get a chance.
LIE!

(5,914 posts)Let's say it wasn't even due to something that you did; it's just a generic problem. Maybe a pissed-off customer came in during your shift.
If you looked, behaved, and mouthed off to your boss the way that Kav did to the Senators on the panel Thursday, you would be FIRED so fucking fast, they wouldn't even let you pack up the shit from your desk before Security walked you out the front door.

(11,885 posts)They then have to start a criminal investigation by their own guidelines, which makes it almost certain kavanaugh will not only lose his bid to get onto the highest court, he could very easily lose his position on the bench in any court for his crimes. He knows he has lied, a lot, and it would be really stupid for him to risk that, but he hasn't displayed being smart fro his actions at all. If his withdrawal doesn't happen by Monday morning he'll lose it all. There is zero chance he'll make it onto this court, and he'll e lucky if many legal issues doesn't put him behind bars. He's a serial liar and very corrupt. His money issues will also open up things that'll create serious threats to his freedom. He's very corrupt.

(872 posts)If he stands to lose his position on the bench, there is no way he would allow this investigation to occur. But I also find it unlikely he will withdraw his nomination, which leads me to the conclusion that something is up.

(10,919 posts)Deborah Ramirez spoke to the FBI and provided the bureau with the names of witnesses to back up her claim of sexual misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, CNN reported Sunday, citing an unnamed person familiar with the matter.
Ramirez alleges that Kavanaugh exposed himself and approached her with his genitals out at a college party, the New Yorker first reported a week ago.
Multiple outlets have reported that the White House has set strict boundaries for the FBIs background investigation into misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh, with the New York Times reporting Saturday that Ramirez was one of just four witnesses the bureau would be speaking to.

Thanks ffr, whose post got locked as a "duplicate" of the OP. Ok, perhaps, but nevertheless has more recent important material...
