Report: U-Haul truck holding equipment for Biden event stolen

Source: The Hill

A U-Haul truck containing equipment for a campaign event for Vice President Joe Biden was stolen in downtown Detroit Saturday night.

Secret Service spokesman Edward Donovan said the theft would not “affect the visit at all,” according to media reports.
“We would never compromise the security of a visit,” Donovan said.

Reports said the agency had rented the truck to help move equipment. Agents left the vehicle in downtown Saturday evening and found it missing on Sunday.

Donovan said Detroit police were investigating the theft. “It’s a local matter at this point,” he said. “We’ll work with them.”
