Clint Eastwood Gets Cut From Romney RNC Video
Source: abc news
A video mash-up of speakers from last weeks Republican National Convention does not include an appearance from the mystery RNC speaker, Clint Eastwood.
The two-and-a-half minute video posted today to the Romney campaigns YouTube account features former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, VP nominee Paul Ryan and of course, Romney himself, but it leaves out Eastwoods controversial speech.

(49,036 posts)The Republicans think Clint has a new third career as comedian, but the rest of the country is wondering if the performance was a cartoon hologram:

(12,754 posts)It's an idea they stole from the circus. At the big top, when a performer falls from a high wire or a trapeze, they don't stop the show. They send in the clowns. And the clowns run amok in the tent, distracting the customers from the tragedy in the center ring -- until they can get the main show back on track.
Clint was that clown -- whether they meant him to be or not.
No one paid any attention to the tragedies that were Ryan and Romney. All anyone is talking about it Clint. He did his job. Imagine if they had sent out someone sane to introduce Romney. People might have paid attention to his speech -- and even the party faithful might have realized they were empty words from an empty suit.

(12,754 posts)They don't want him in the video -- but they didn't want you listening to Romney's speech. Once they accomplished that, they kicked Clint to the curb. But he did his job -- brilliantly. No one can tell you what Romney said.

(18,928 posts)That video is creepy. I didn't watch the convention. Not a horror flick fan.
I only saw a bit of Eastwood on The Daily Show. It was sad; and I have refrained from posting any jokes circulating.
Stewart's was the only one I passed on. He made it about the party, and not the actor.
Jon Stewart has some class. Williard and the RNC. don't. They made it about the actor, and sullied themselves in
a brand new way.
