Trump: The Media Will Endorse Me in 2020--or Go Bankrupt
Source: The Daily Beast
At a rally in Las Vegas on Thursday night, the president wanted all of his supporters to know the media cannot exist without him.

President Trump spent most of his campaign-style rally in Las Vegas on Thursday night convincing supporters that everyone loves himincluding his harshest critics in the media, who he says are sure to endorse him in 2020.
Trump, who was in Nevada to stump for Republican Dean Heller ahead of a midterm challenge for his U.S. Senate seat, spent most of his speech praising himself for making America respected again by creating economic growth. But he repeatedly interrupted his comments to mock the media.
Do you remember the tears from the fake news media when it was obvious that we were going to win [in 2016]? And you know what? Theyre still crying, he said. They dont know what the hell happened, but it happened, and thats why were setting all-time records, thats why were doing so well.
Describing the media as the great ally of the Democratic resistancewhich he said consists of left-wing haters, angry mobs, and socialist fanaticsthe president expressed particular scorn for The New York Times.

And it's not like they can easily avoid him

(7,142 posts)The M$M is complicit, it has no intention of changing the narrative, including msnbc. I watch msnbc and Don Lemon and Shep Smith because from time to time they stray from narrative but most of the time they all just put a progressive (truthful) slant to the narrative.
I'm still waiting for the narrative to change to impeaching Trump. He has done more in 2 years to warrant it than most of the other presidents combined.

(7,142 posts)My point still stands, allow me to explain.
The narrative could be; Did president Obama beat his wife? Fox will say, yes, CNN will say it needs more information, and msnbc will say absolutely not. What have we as progressives gained if we are following the narrative, did president Obama beat his wife?
Now, I can pick any one of numerous narratives that are out there today. Here's one; Democrats up for reelection should refrain from talking about impeachment. I can do this for a long time.

(7,142 posts)but he is in too deep now. He would lose his pardon power for his kids and for himself. He may not be able to count on a pardon from Pence since I believe that Pence is dirty too.
I never imagined (foolish me) that every Congressional Republican would turn traitor to our country. Mueller can come out with iron clad proof that Trump colluded with the Russians, laundered their money, committed bank fraud, cheated on his taxes and Republicans will still back him, will refuse to impeach him. I wonder how many Republicans got Russian money?
ps/ It looks like Mueller has proof that Cohen was in fact in Prague. The entire Steele dossier is proving to be 100% accurate and yet Republicans are still trying to use the dossier to prove that there was a conspiracy against Trump. When will the M$M change that narrative? Trump and Republicans are lucky that the M$M has been complicit.

(6,231 posts)those repubs have also received money from russia. Haven't we seen where the russians gave money to the NRA who then gave it to the repubs? That's money laundering.

(32,737 posts)If we take both houses in November - I predict Cheeto will resign very quickly maybe even before Christmas, or soon after. He'll call it a "victory" of course.
If we only take the House, then he'll hang on for awhile. Mueller will get even closer with indictments to his family, he'll get angry and scared shitless. He already should be scared but that's another story. He'll get friendly visits and phone calls, and people will tell him he has to go. That's how Nixon finally knew it was over, but Nixon was a lot smarter than Cheeto.

(7,142 posts)if Donald Trump is the Republican candidate in 2020.
I still expect him to have a nervous breakdown in the near future. He is not a strong person, he is fragile. People rightly point out how the beat down that he got at the correspondence dinner bothers him to this day. Don't underestimate the effect that Stormy's book will have on him. A narcissist like Trump can't take being made fun of, especially sex wise. So people, we are going to have to be careful and not upset Trump any further and by all means no one had better call him "little mushroom dick."
