Kellyanne Conway: Kavanaugh Accuser Should Not Be Ignored and Insulted; 'She Should Be Heard'

Senior Presidential Advisor Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox & Friends this morning and revealed the first clues on how the White House plans to address the current political conundrum they find themselves in surrounding the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. A confirmation vote set for Thursday of this week is now in question to be delayed as a result of allegations of sexual assault that occurred 35 years ago that came to light in the past few days.
While fellow Republicans have opened with attacks on the Democrats who raised reasonable questions by holding this potentially damning evidence to the 11th hour, Conway opened her comments by presenting a more sympathetic tone towards the accuser.
This woman should not be insulted and she should not be ignored, Conway opened, before explaining the many options that the Judicial Committee and ostensibly the White House has in terms of hearing what Dr. Ford has to say. She will be heard, was perhaps a surprising (and refreshing) note to hear from Ms. Conway for Democrats who are overly eager to paint a Trump administration in the most unflattering manner possible.
The balance of the segment is more akin to a congressional filibuster in which Conway hits nearly every talking point imaginable, but her opening support of the alleged accuser? Thats noteworthy.

So, "let her talk" but it won't change our opinion.

(16,875 posts)They know full well how this will look to average American women if they full on attack Dr Ford. While I have no doubt the initial thought process for most of the GOP is to go full on "Anita Hill attack mode", I don't think those type of attacks, much less the optics will be effective in 2018...at least I hope not.

Don't believe a word Conway says. Not one utterance, not for a moment.

That sentence pretty well describes every single interview I have ever seen with Kellyanne
