Booker releases 'confidential' Kavanaugh documents

Source: The Hill

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) on Thursday released emails from Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's time as a White House counsel, escalating a heated fight over his documents.

Booker released approximately 12 pages of emails tied to discussions Kavanaugh had on racial inequality including one email thread titled "racial profiling."

The documents are marked "committee confidential," meaning they are not supposed to be discussed or released publicly.

The GOP has broken every rule in the book since 2010 (House) and 2014 (Senate). Fuck 'em.

What was Nike's long time (I remember when they first used it in the late '80s) and current slogan?

They don't just break rules; they made up some new ones to thwart democracy itself.

This "committee confidential" thing is as much bullshit as McConnell waiting for a new POTUS to appoint SCOTUS.

I watched the Strzok hearing (the House Judiciary Committee one) where that jackass Goodlatte literally manufactured rules on the spot and refused to follow "regular order", allowing pinhead Gowdy to vomit forth a vindictive rant.

Enough! All of this is going to come back to haunt them and hopefully today is the beginning of more of that. I remember when Elijah Cummings basically said f-u in his committee and released reports in the past that the GOP refused to issue.

that if the tables were turned the R's would anonymously release every last document and then blame it on the Democrats. Good for Senator Booker!

McConnell counts on Dems playing "nice" and by the rules. Sen Feinstein was the first to release docs that the GOP would allow Americans to see, now Booker and Hirono are just following her lead.

Brett Kavanaugh is nothing but a political hack with a law degree.

I truly wish Dems would ask for Wallace and Schmidt to testify as to what and to what extent Kavanaugh was involved in the Bush WH decision-making on the controversial things they did. Those two can put their money where their mouths are.

They did talk about how horrified they were when they discovered the real Sarah Palin and discussed that somehow, something would have to be done about her if McCain were elected. Fortunately for them, the 2008 financial collapse happened and they knew McCain could not win after that and what to do about Palin became a moot point.

With all this, Kavanagh's nomination is on shaky ground.
