Trump Was Involved in FBI Headquarters Plan, Watchdog Says

Source: The Wall Stree Journal

A top government official provided “incomplete” and “misleading” answers to Congress about President Trump’s personal involvement in discussions about the future of the Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters, according to a new watchdog report.

The inspector general of the General Services Administration found in the report, which was released Monday, that FBI, General Services Administration and White House officials met about the headquarters project in January, and that Mr. Trump was personally involved in one of those meetings.

The internal watchdog found that GSA Administrator Emily Murphy gave testimony to Congress in April that didn’t disclose the involvement of Mr. Trump or other White House officials, despite repeated questioning from a Democratic member of Congress about whether anyone at the White House had participated in the decision.

The inspector general concluded that her statements to Congress were “literally true.” But it found that “Murphy’s congressional testimony was incomplete and may have left the misleading impression that she had no discussions with White House officials in the decision-making process about the project."

You need to learn how to ask the right questions, with the current unethical and criminal group in the White House. If there's an out, a way to legally hide something or leave a misimpression, they'll take it.

When you're dealing with liars & crooks, you have to ask pointed questions that force the responders to answer specifically. So there is no "impression." There is simply an answer, for which they can be prosecuted if they lie.

Seems like some people still haven't caught on who and what they're dealing with. Assume the worst, and ask specific questions about those things. Did the White House sit in on any meetings? Did anyone from the White House administration contact you regarding this matter? When? How? What did they say? Are any of these numbers we're looking at, did any of them come from anyone connected with the White House? Who is responsible for contributing these numbers? Who were the people, by name, who were present at each and every meeting regarding this, whether they participated or not?

Boom.

With all the attention on Sen McCain I half expect him to name a Naval Air Station after himself. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Why shouldn't he? After he replaces the newer induction catapults with the old steam powered ones, of course.

as apparently it's outgrown present location in NW DC. Disputes about locations occurred, but at some point 'recently,' I forget exactly when, decision was 'made' to side-line the project, I think.

A big real estate issue, so not surprised that trump would try to get his mitts on it.

Maybe his golf course? But doubt GSA wants to move to NJ! This dispute has been among locations in MD and VA.

I don't think the dump hotel property is sufficiently large, tho I'd be happy to see his name GONE from the neighborhood, tho I'd be very happy to see it GONE from there (where I worked for 20+ years.)

FBI HQ is across the street from the Trump Hotel DC. If FBI HQ were relocated, its former property could be redeveloped into something else—like maybe a competing luxury hotel. (Article by @OConnellPostbiz for @washingtonpost.)

It's not that they hate America; it's that it takes so darn long to sell it to the highest bidder.
