North Korea accuses U.S. of plotting invasion while talking with 'a smile on its face'

TOKYO — North Korea’s main newspaper accused the United States on Sunday of staging military drills to prepare an invasion while at the same time pursuing dialogue with “a smile on its face.”

Rodong Sinmun, the official mouthpiece of the Workers’ Party of Korea, cited alleged U.S. troop movements in the region, which it called “extremely provocative and dangerous” and said they threatened to derail the dialogue between the United States and North Korea.

The U.S. military called the accusation “far fetched.”

The opinion piece came two days after President Trump canceled a planned trip to North Korea by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, citing a lack of progress in getting North Korea to surrender its nuclear weapons.

North Korea Accuses ‘Double-Dealing’ U.S. of Plotting Invasion

North Korean state media has warned the United States “deserves merciless divine punishment” for “hatching a criminal plot” against Pyongyang. Kim Jong Un was apparently angered by the abrupt cancellation of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit. Monday’s Rodong Sinmun newspaper said U.S. special units based in Japan were staging an air drill aimed at “infiltration into Pyongyang,” adding: “We cannot but take a serious note of the double-dealing attitudes of the U.S. as it is busy staging secret drills involving man-killing special units while having a dialogue with a smile on its face.” Negotiations aimed at denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula have been deadlocked since Donald Trump’s summit with Kim in June.

To Trump "character" is an acting role you play not honorable values you instinctively have.

North Korea, a country who’s existence has been based on continual lies and deceit, finds fault with another country doing the same? Well, isn’t that special.

So the categorical denial may require a little more explanation. In fact they showed alleged port documents of ship's movements to support their contentions. There was other detailed info about special forces movements.
