President Donald Trump renewed calls to fund a US-Mexico border wall on Wednesday following the arrest of a suspect in the death of 20-year-old University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts.

"A person came in from Mexico, illegally, and killed her," Trump claimed in a White House video on Wednesday. "We need the wall, we need our immigration laws changed, we need our border laws changed."

"We need Republicans to do it because the Democrats aren't going to do it," Trump said. "This is one instance of many. We have tremendous crime trying to come through the borders."

On Tuesday, shortly after Tibbetts' body was found in a corn field, law enforcement officials arrested 24-year-old Cristihian Bahena Rivera.

Trump's stupid wall won't stop evil people from killing innocent people. Tibbets aunt is very correct, "evil comes in every color". I'm convinced they were tipped off by the cops/video that perp was Hispanic, knowing it would make a perfect morality tale to exploit. And a useful diversion from scandal news. I don't see the same trend on Twitter but Twitter is less friends-oriented and hackable than FB, which for younger mediaites is all but dead. Not so user-friendly on iPhones.

They use an NRA profile with an AR-15 logo. I'm sure it's a coordinated con with Trump, Fox, and Russians but no one yet has set down the whole story and don't have time to research it all out. There are hints that some reporters are catching on. There's just TOO much news. But the key is that someone tipped off Fox, probably from police video, and they knew they could play this story even before the perp was IDed.
