Poll: Trump trails Biden, Sanders, Warren in potential 2020 matchups
Source: The Hill
President Trump trails top Democrats in potential matchups of likely 2020 White House candidates, according to a new poll.
The Politico/Morning Consult poll released early Wednesday found that Trump lags behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) by 12 points each.
The president also trails 4 points behind Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) in the poll.

Notably, however, Trump fails to secure more than 30 percent in any of those matchups, suggesting a large section of the population would be undecided in a matchup between Trump and a candidate with less name recognition in 2020.

(6,377 posts)And he'd need overwhelming support from independents to win.
I'm a Cory Booker fan myself, but would be very happy to vote for Joe in the general and see him in the Oval Office again. He's smart, experienced, is a tiger who doesn't back down from Trump, and is popular in the midwest/blue collar areas. He stands as good of a chance as anybody in 2020 if he wants to run.

(13,056 posts)that didn't happen in 2016 either - he won because the russians and GOP rigged the system. I'm willing to bet the only way he would win this time around is by cheating, again.
Re: Joe, RUN BIDEN RUN!!! Among the fields of young and senior, Joe has my top vote if Hillary can't be prez.

(46,160 posts)You could have a 75-25 poll against Trump and the voting machines could flip that ratio in certain states.

(13,056 posts)that my hunch is the Idiot's downfall will play out the same way Nixon's did. My guess is those close to him are urging him to resign to somehow save face, so that they won't have to impeach him.
update: Forgot to add i'm sure the GOP enablers are now wanting him out of the picture for Pence to step up as prez so they can continue to carry out their agenda to devastate/hurt the middle class, the aged, the disenfranchised and the poor.

(254 posts)said that Trump will have to be dragged kicking and screaming from the White House, that he did not have the "class" to resign like Nixon did. I laughed my ass off!! Dude, when Richard Frigging Nixon is perceived to have more "class" than you do, you are one sorry scuzzbucket, hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

(92,372 posts)because all it is a measure of is name recognition, and the fact that they have so many "undecided voters", if other less known Democrats are added to the race.
Coming from the Hill this does not surprise in the least.
Until actual prospective candidates are know, these polls are meaningless

And I want Warren where she is for selfish reasons.
We have more than 2 years. There has to be some fresh face that would work for the Democratic Party.
I think we need a purple-state newcomer--a Democrat. Where is the next Obama?
(I realize a lot of conservatives think that Obama is a Liberal, but I think there might just be someone out there that can convince enough people that those polices were in no way "extreme."

The whole dynamic will change significantly after the midterms.
