Trump says 'Democrats give up when I turn out' on campaign trail

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that his involvement in the midterm elections "de-energizes" Democrats, according to The Wall Street Journal, once again forecasting a wave of GOP success in November's races.
I think the Democrats give up when I turn out, Trump said. If you want to know the truth, I dont think it energizes them. I think it de-energizes them. I think they give up when I turn out.
On Twitter, the president has repeatedly touted his "8 for 9" record in special elections endorsements, even though he has endorsed multiple losing candidates, including Luther Strange and Roy Moore in Alabama and Rick Saccone in Pennsylvania. After releasing a fresh batch of GOP endorsements earlier Wednesday, Trump touted his support as having moved the needle for GOP candidates.
The president said he plans to aggressively stump for Republicans running in close elections this fall, and pointed to a RealClearPolitics poll, which showed more than 40 percent of Americans believe the country is moving in the right direction, according to the Journal.

As long as old white men show a majority, those are the only folks he considers people.

(1,469 posts)When he gets only positive news from the rallies, people around him and Fox News, what else is he to think? He thinks that the members of the news media are the only people in the country who do not worship him. His ego will not let him believe otherwise.

(22,801 posts)Just flying overhead during a campaign event adds ten points to a candidate's numbers. Watching it on TV adds five. Yeah, verily, I say unto you, "Bow down ye unworthy unbelievers lest you be blinded by the sight of the Magnificent Trump, light shining forth from his enormous body. Tremble ye sinners who have not faith in The Donald's infinite power!"

(86,622 posts)As a small hamlet dweller, I can say that even the small factions will travel to see one of their beloved charlatans. And I am sure you're correct about the ethnic groups up there, I lived in and around Madison for a time and traveled all over the state for work. I kind of miss that but I need high elevation environment so I can't live there anymore.

(24,701 posts)I don't live there anymore, but I go back to revitalize and see family...................but these folks that went and saw this "guy".........................that is not the Minnesota I know when I was growing up.....................but 10% of the population that's what is scary..................
