House GOP prepares to grill DOJ official linked to Steele dossier

Source: The Hill

BY OLIVIA BEAVERS - 08/14/18 08:26 PM EDT

House Republicans are gearing up for a closed-door interview with Department of Justice (DOJ) official Bruce Ohr, which is slated to take place later this month.

Ohr, who served as the department’s associate deputy attorney general and now currently works in the criminal division, is the latest target among House conservatives who claim there is ample evidence of bias against President Trump in the DOJ and FBI during the 2016 election.

The DOJ and the committee reached an agreement for Ohr to appear before the committee on Aug. 28, DOJ spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores confirmed.

This means Ohr will not be under subpoena power when he interviews with congressional investigators on the House Judiciary and House Oversight and Government Reform committees. The two panels are conducting a joint investigation into FBI and DOJ conduct during the 2016 election.

It's behind closed doors so you will only know what the Republicans say afterword, and given their history on that, it will be:

R: "I'm convinced this is a witch hunt against our president!!!"
Q: Can you be specific?
R: "Oh, I'm sorry. Confidentiality rules, 'ya know..."

Look at what Nunes did with his GOP only "report".

But it won't matter. That will be all that the Reich's Mighty Wurlitzer of Spin requires to get into gear, and it will go into its usual overdrive.

5. Newsweek: WHAT'S TRUE IN TRUMP-RUSSIA DOSSIER? KEY PARTS PROVED OVER LAST YEAR

Aug 2018

So far nothing in the Steele Dossier has been proven false.

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-russia-dossier-true-proven-929839

But well before Mueller was in the national spotlight, a former British intelligence officer was gathering information about Trump and his campaign’s potential ties and collusion with Russia to win the White House.

Christopher Steele and his 35-page dossier not only alleged collusion between the president’s campaign and Russia. It also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime had cultivated Trump for “years” and even had potentially damaging information on the billionaire real estate mogul.

Mueller’s probe, which he technically took over from the FBI, was not prompted by Steele's dossier. Instead, the investigation began when former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos drunkenly told an Australian diplomat that he knew Russia had damaging information about Hillary Clinton. Australian officials then alerted U.S. officials, and the FBI opened its probe in July 2016.

Ever since, media reports, U.S. intelligence services and Mueller’s team itself have proven key parts of Steele’s dossier.

it could be anything from Trump is shackles to Manafort and Stone doing a small amount of time.

No way I'm setting myself up for a major letdown. Just gonna watch it and let it play out.

indictments when they have the evidence.

You don't show your hand in poker until you have the winner...that's what Muleer is doing, holding his cards close to the vest until he has the bonafide winning hand.

And I've been following the Paul Manafort, if there is a critical thinking jury in place he will be found guilty - there is a mountain of evidence of tax fraud. He could get life in prison. Jury watch will start later this afternoon. I expect they will come back Thursday with a verdict.
