White House seeks to prevent Omarosa from releasing more tapes: report

The White House is looking into legal options against former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman after she secretly recorded chief of staff John Kelly in the Situation Room, ABC News reported Sunday.
The administration reportedly wants to block Manigault Newman from releasing any more tapes and punish her for the recording she revealed on NBC's "Meet the Press" earlier Sunday, which was taped during Kelly's firing of her back in December.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement Sunday that the very idea a staff member would sneak a recording device into the White House Situation Room, shows a blatant disregard for our national security.
And then to brag about it on national television further proves the lack of character and integrity of this disgruntled former White House employee, Huckabee Sanders continued.

(8,052 posts)invited into the White House to begin with, not to mention the Situation Room?
Corrupt AND incompetent.

(17,863 posts)It was "fake" news when the media questioned her qualifications and her actual role in the White House. Like so many others in the WH she had no business being there.
They broke it, they own it. I guess they will figure out a way to blame Obama or Clinton before it is said and done.

Trump's entire administration is unqualified to be in the WH.

(2,275 posts)... these agents of Russia. THAT ISN'T OUR GOVERNMENT, so recording these traitors in ANY room is not just competent, it's brilliant. She's a hero, even if the recordings only show a fraction of the total body of evidence that is building up.
Why is anybody in DU giving this brave woman a hard time? She originally wanted a job in the Clinton administration, but when offered a gig at the clown administration she took it. She needed a damn job. It would give her some major work and life exoerience.
Stop ragging on Amarosa.

(8,052 posts)which is: if Trump and Sanders think she's so awful, why was she chosen to work at the White House in the first place?
As for why others might "rag on Amarosa" I'll let them speak for themselves.

(1,474 posts)The coming blockbuster on trump's presidency will not be a dramatic political suspense about the end of Democracy.
It will be a comedy of the same caliber as Idiocracy only much more stupid and insanely humorous.
That is if trump, Russia, and the gop traitors are stopped.

(37 posts)It has been well documented that the trump WH allowed staff their cell phones while in the West Wing. Kelly eventually cut down on that, but how much infamy do you think has been recorded by Ivanka et al? I'll bet enough to fill a dozen tell-all $ makers.

(25,249 posts)I can't believe that - in this day and age - that recording devices couldn't be exposed by electronic surveillance in the WH. It doesn't instill a lot of confidence in me that this administration is supposed to protect us when they can't even devise a system in the WH to prevent unauthorized recording devices from being used and prevent recordings such as the one Omarosa released today on MTP.

Former "Apprentice" contestant and top Donald Trump cheerleader Omarosa Manigault is warning his critics they will soon be bowing down before him.
Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump, she said. "Its everyone whos ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe ...

Washington (CNN)Donald Trump surrogate Omarosa Manigault said the President-elect's campaign is keeping a list of people who did not support his run to the White House.
"Let me just tell you, Mr. Trump has a long memory and we're keeping a list," Manigault, the campaign's director of African-American outreach, told the Independent Journal Review, an online news outlet started by two former GOP staffers aimed at a center-right audience ...
