Vote Mistake Discovery Cuts Kobach's Kansas GOP Primary Lead In Half

Source: TPM

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s lead over Gov. Jeff Colyer in the Republican primary has been cut by more than half after election officials discovered a mistake in the listing for one county’s results in the state’s tally.

The mistake means Kobach’s lead has fallen to only 91 votes from 191 when final results were reported after Tuesday’s primary.

Final, unofficial results on the secretary of state’s website show Kobach winning Thomas County in northwest Kansas with 466 votes to Colyer’s 422.

But the tally posted by the Thomas County clerk shows Colyer with 522 votes. Clerk Shelly Harms confirmed the figure Thursday to The Associated Press.

Guess this exercise shows the power that only 100 votes can have. Wonder if there are any other em...."honest" mistakes in the other 104 Counties in Kansas??

BTW,in the 2014 Gov election with Brownback the results were questioned (he won by only 35k votes) by a statistician at WSU who wanted to review all the voting records because some of the numbers from some Counties looked very strange. Guess who the SOS was/is that refused the request? Yeah....Kobach. That works out to only 333 votes per County to lose 35,000 votes for a Dem.

The incumbent always has an advantage in these races. Even when the incumbent is a certified idiot.

God only knows what Trump will do before the election. He'll probably pay people to vote for the GOP candidate, just like he pays them to sit in the audience and cheer for him.

I think they'd elect him just so some Dem Guberner doesn't come for their gun. Bigger problem is he's already said he'll take us right back to the Brownback 0% tax rate for Corporations again--if the Republican led State House and Senate are stupid enough to vote it in for the second time.
