Democrats want answers about Mar-a-Lago members' influence over VA

WASHINGTON — A Democrat tasked with Department of Veterans Affairs oversight demanded Wednesday that the VA hand over evidence of communication between agency employees and three members of President Donald Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Fla., who were reported as secretly shaping veterans policies.

Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., the ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, sent a letter to new VA Secretary Robert Wilkie wanting unredacted copies of any correspondence concerning Marvel Entertainment Chairman Ike Perlmutter, lawyer March Sherman and Bruce Moskowitz, a Palm Beach doctor.

ProPublica, a nonprofit news organization, reported Tuesday that the three men, all Mar-a-Lago members, comprise an informal council that exerts major influence on the VA. They have used their proximity to Trump in ways that could benefit their private interests, according to the report. None of the men have served in the U.S. military or in government.

Walz described the situation as an “unprecedented, disturbing, and profoundly unacceptable betrayal of our nation’s veterans.”

As a Vet who depends upon the VA for my health care, I am outraged x 10 over this. Who the fuck are these people ? Not military, not government, not even elected. I could puke blood over this administration's abrogation of its responsibilities and asking completely unqualified friends of trump to run policy.
