MOSCOW (WKYT) - Sen. Rand Paul, R - Ky., says he has delivered a letter on behalf of President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Paul announced the delivery Wednesday afternoon while meeting with various Russian leaders throughout the week.
I was honored to deliver a letter from President Donald J. Trump to President Vladimir Putins administration, Paul said, The letter emphasized the importance of further engagement in various areas including countering terrorism, enhancing legislative dialogue and resuming cultural exchanges.
The Kentucky Republican says Russian and American lawmakers need to work closer than before, saying the lack of dialogue is the biggest problem between the two countries.

(13,526 posts)President-elect Donald Trump told reporters on Saturday that messages "should be sent via courier like in the old days" to ensure security.
"It's very important, if you have something really important, write it out and have it delivered by courier, the old fashioned way because I'll tell you what, no computer is safe," Trump responded when asked about the importance of cybersecurity, according to pool reporters.
"I don't care what they say, no computer is safe. I have a boy who's 10 years old, he can do anything with a computer. You want something to really go without detection, write it out and have it sent by courier," Trump reiterated.

Weird WH statement on the letter Rand gave to Putin
At Senator Pauls request, President Trump provided a letter of introduction. In the letter, the President mentioned topics of interest that Senator Paul wanted to discuss with President Putin.
