Sarah Palin: Fox News Canceled My Appearances
Source: Huffington Post
What's going on between Sarah Palin and Fox News?
The former vice-presidential nominee famously signed a huge contract with the network back in 2010, and she was once one of its marquee faces. On Wednesday, though, Palin let the world know that Fox News had canceled big-time on her for the whole evening. Notably, Wednesday is the night that Paul Ryan, the current Republican nominee for vice president, is slated to speak -- making it rather odd that Fox News would not want to hear the last nominee's perspective on the event. Palin was interviewed on Monday and then very briefly on Tuesday night.
Palin made no mention of Ryan in her Facebook post, though. Instead, she said she was miffed that she wasn't getting a chance to laud John McCain, who is also speaking tonight. She posted a picture of the two of them, along with a statement:
I'm sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain's positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight. Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches. God bless John McCain. Thank you for everything. And happy birthday, my friend.

(5,420 posts)they really really loved Sarah compared to Ryan. Though they love Ryan, they really really loved the grifter. Nor do they want them to be reminded that no matter how much you really really love the VP nom, it won't matter if the Presidential nom is shit.

(2,600 posts)Is that really the best frigging thing to harp on about during the convention for crying out loud?? No wonder Faux News pulled the plug on her, they can't take the incessant whining blather either.
But I have to admit, it is giving me a chuckle that even Faux News has had enough of her. Hehehe.

(4,788 posts)surprise guest speaker at the Republican converntion tonight. Some people are speculating that it's going to be a hologram of Reagan. I'm betting that Sarah is hoping to get the call to come and speak tonight. I'd almost prefer Reagan's moldering corpse.

(8,064 posts)but I wouldn't doubt if the whole Fox firing sarah thing was just a ploy to trick everyone into not expecting her to show up.
romney is really biting off the hand that brought him by not embracing palin and ron paul. romney got votes from their followers in 2008 and I don't think Romney will have their loyalty this year. Obama will win with over 300 electoral votes, but without indiana. he may get north carolina again and i wouldn't be surprised if arizona is a squeaker.. because romney is really that bad.

(7,239 posts)Brilliant HBO movie on Palin's selection as McCain's running mate and the horror she became to his election staff. She makes this same "getting a chance to laud John McCain" shit in the movie when she demands to speak at McCain's concession speech.
Of course, I saw this movie while reading Robert Caro's book on LBJ, right at the part where LBJ has assumed the presidency and now has hundreds of complicated and delicate moves to make in just the few days after Kennedy's assassination, things I never thought or knew about. All I could think of was, "Can you imagine if Palin had to do this?"

(49,047 posts)Palin is rumoured to be the mystery speaker for Thursday night. Remember how Gingrich had his contracts with Fox and others cancelled when he ran for Prez? Could be a thing like that but very short term.
However, I don't give it much weight, because I think Palin would be more coy about the situation if she were to be the speaker.
NoMittens
(27 posts)by mittens & company they will definitely stay home or vote write-in or third party....it would be very crafty for the Dems. to play this 'feud' up as much as possible in order to depress the Republican vote even further!
That headline certainly brought a smile to my face.

(65,492 posts)The ad spider identifies key words and then throws up ads related to those words. If a page on DU has a lot of references to the Republican Party or Sarah Palin, then ads for them will show up, if they have aything to sell. If, for example, Palin had just put out a new book, you would see all sorts of ads on this page for that book, since her name is mentioned repeatedly on the page.
Since Republicans and their party are mentioned often on any given DU page, ads for those of that ilk who have things to sell--or who are paying the ad company to have advertisements for funds--will show up on those pages.
I don't know which ad company DU uses. I use Googleads on my 10 public sites, and no one asks me about which ads I want. The ads just show up wherever they seem related to the words that are frequently used on a given page.
It can get funny, though. For example, my article titled "America's Sleep Deficit," which deals with widespread sleep deprivation in this country, will sometimes show ads for the Republicans, complaining about "big-spending Democrats" and our out of control budget deficit!

It is a common misconception that the ads that appear on a given page have been specifcally okayed by the website's owner. This causes a lot of costernation among people on political sites, since the members of a given site will constantly reference the opposing party and its most "troublesome" members, thus causing ads for the opposition to show up on the site's pages.
I guarantee that conservative sites are filled with members who cannot fathom why the site owner allows ads for the Democratic Party and its most prominent individual members to be plastered everywhere!
