Donald Trump will spend the weekend at Turnberry schmoozing business contacts flown into Scotland by his son Eric. ... The US president will head to his Ayrshire golf resort after landing at Prestwick tonight.

Eric, 34, who is executive vice-president of the Trump Organisation, flew into Aberdeen airport on a Trump private jet yesterday and played a round at the president's course in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire. ... The Record can reveal that about 40 business associates travelled from the US with Eric. They are expected to meet the president over the weekend.

Our photographer witnessed the group disembarking from the Trump jet in Aberdeen yesterday morning before being taken to Balmedie. They continued on to Turnberry later in the day. ... Last night, Trump came under fire for using the taxpayer-funded trip to promote his private business interests.
....

Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard said it was unacceptable that UK taxpayers were being forced to pay a £5million policing bill for Trump’s time in Scotland when he is promoting his private business interests.

The article is referring to UK taxpayers, but don't think you're off the hook.

Hat tip, David Fahrenthold:

Really interesting: the @Daily_record says its photographer captured @EricTrump's arrival in Scotland, along w/40 "businessmen" who were expected to travel to Turnberry when @realDonaldTrump is there. I've asked Trump Org. for details on the trip and the guests...

Trump visit to net Glasgow luxury rental firm nearly £1m

A family-run luxury car rental and chauffeur business in Glasgow will be one of the single biggest beneficiaries of Donald Trump’s visit to Scotland this weekend, with the US government paying it nearly £1 million to help lay on VIP transport, The Scotsman has learned. Little’s Chauffeur Drive, based in the city’s Bellahouston area, is in line to receive a six-figure sum as part of a deal to provide a fleet of luxury vehicles for the US president’s entourage. The US State Department has placed nine purchase and delivery orders with the Paisley Road West firm. Cumulatively, the cost runs to a staggering $1,260,139 (£959,904), a bill which will ultimately be footed by US taxpayers.

...

The exact number of vehicles being hired via Little’s is not clear, but is understood the orders will cover airport transfers from Prestwick Airport to Turnberry, as well as transportation for the visiting US businessmen who joined Eric Trump at the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire.

How much did he say it was costing taxpayers for secret service to stay at Trumps golfcourse? What a scam.
