(22,651 posts)slide the kids out in a "tube bubble ride'. amazing how they gave the kids meds to calm them and used full face masks and swam them out.
Also amazing how they shortened the dive out to only 3 hours from about 6

If it is possible to say I am so happy while tears stream down my face.

(8,207 posts)Long time DUers might remember when my Dad had cardiac arrest in late October of 2008. The hospital induced a coma and dropped his body temperature for a week and a half to prevent brain damage. (He was also lucky to be with a doctor friend when it happened.)
When he came out of the coma, he couldn't speak or even hold a pen. But he could spell letters into my mom's hand. He laboriously asked what happened and what the date was. Then he asked, "Who won?" My mom didn't know what he was asking about at first, but finally she got it and said, "Obama."
Dad raised his arms above his head and smiled.

The rescue mission is gathering pace. Reports that 3 more boys brought out, bringing the total so far to 8. The weather is holding, the water level in the cave is down, and every hour they are getting closer to bringing the last one out. #ThaiCaveRescue @NBCNews
