North Korea has increased nuclear production at secret sites, say U.S. officials

"Work is ongoing to deceive us on the number of facilities, the number of weapons, the number of missiles," said one U.S. official.

WASHINGTON U.S. intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months and that Kim Jong Un may try to hide those facilities as he seeks more concessions in nuclear talks with the Trump administration, U.S. officials told NBC News.
The intelligence assessment, which has not previously been reported, seems to counter the sentiments expressed by President Donald Trump, who tweeted after his historic June 12 summit with Kim that "there was no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea."
Analysts at the CIA and other intelligence agencies don't see it that way, according to more than a dozen American officials who are familiar with their assessments and spoke on the condition of anonymity. They see a regime positioning itself to extract every concession it can from the Trump administration while clinging to nuclear weapons it believes are essential to survival.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Obama leftovers, deep state and whatever conspiracy theories Donald's administration can come up with to make everyone but Dotard look bad.

(6,974 posts)tRump will probably say that he lied to him (He didn't actually, NOKO never had a binding agreement to STOP nuclear production), there will be an escalation on his half to go to war and that will be that. It's bad enough that this country is almost in a constitutional crisis state, but to have a war to wag the dog on top of it, because President Fatso's trying to DEFLECT from the Muller investigations and from what he's done with his zero tolerance policy, where there may be up to 4,000 children who've been separated from their families.

The real problems are mostly practical. There are potentially over a hundred sites that need to be examined and monitored.

They don't have enough qualified inspectors.
Billions for nuclear weapons, not much for denuclearization. There is not much incentive for a constellation of political and economic interests that thrive on conflict.
Post article identified Kangson as the second site of the uranium enrichment facility. So I guess this means they do know where it is. Is this the place? Why don't they produce the evidence?
