CNN Poll: Support for Democrats ticks up and they retain enthusiasm advantage

Source: CNN

Support for Democratic House candidates has ticked up slightly to 50%, according to a CNN poll conducted by SSRS and released Wednesday.

The percentage of voters who said Democrats when asked which party they'll support in November was up three points since CNN's May poll, and Democrats have a sizable lead among voters who are most enthusiastic about voting. Forty-two percent of registered voters said they'll support the Republican candidate.

This week, Trump will embark on a week-long campaign tour taking him to the key states of Minnesota, Nevada, South Carolina, North Dakota and Wisconsin, rallying around Republicans in the 2018 midterm elections. Each of those states except South Carolina is home to a hotly contested Senate race.

The survey was conducted between June 14 and June 17, just as the stories of the US government separating children from parents trying to cross the border began to take over political conversations. It suggested wide disapproval of that practice, but a majority of Republicans favored President Trump and the White House in the matter.

I think as the kidnapping scandal broadens and deepens, and we eventually find out what they've done to the little girls (Soylent Green? Sex slaves?) the GOP situation will become truly dire.

since the 2016 election. I am not counting any chickens until we can verify that our voting system has not been compromised by Russians and the GOP. Vote like our lives depend on it, this is literally true.

If we don't show up in HUGE numbers and throw out these bastards, this country is toast. It's already going to take several generations to fix what this bastard grifter has fucked up. Some things we will NEVER recover from. Now the world knows we can be turned upside down in a simple election cycle.

Is exactly what I was thinking. Trump and his band of thieves have turned this Country back 50 years. They have accomplished nothing. Just tear down.

If people do not vote we are done as a Country.

Seeing crying children shipped all over this country with no over sight, God only knows what will happen to them. Makes me sick at heart to think we have sunk this low.

Trump is out ranting again, calling names. I did notice the crowd behind him were solemn faced and he had healers.

Ruth Marcus was on with Matthews last night and cited, I think Pew or Gallup, the most recent poll on party ID. That's the question pollsters ask that regardless of how one is registered, what party they identify with. Republican ID slipped 4 points, from 32% to 28%, an indication that the "base" Trump is playing to is shrinking, but also becoming less and less diverse.

It's not that he's becoming more popular, it's that the base is shrinking and the only people remaining are the true Trump diehards.

His base is coming to be just the true cultists. Although I do think at the campaign rallies there is some subset of attendees who just come for the show.

The crowd of angry white folks we see has shown all along that the repubs are the party of whites. I'm white and find this totally disgusting. They are afraid of change and diversity.
