Facebook campaign to help separated children seeks $1,500 but gets $6.5m

Texas-based campaign to provide legal advice to families becomes Facebook's largest ever single fundraiser.
A campaign to reunite families separated at the US border due to Trump's immigration policies, has raised more than $6.5m in four days, the largest fundraiser Facebook has ever seen.
The campaign page said all money raised was going to "directly fund the bond to get parents out of detention and reunited with their children while they await court proceedings" and to "ensure legal representation for every child in Texas' immigration courts", citing the high rate of children who faced the court system unrepresented last year.

People are in pain witnessing this horror going on and want to help - giving money is one way.
May this money go far and help those affected.
It is nice to see some inspiring news.

(19,204 posts)If you'll just resign, Donnie (and take your family and Pence with you) the money is yours. No questions (Mueller still has enough of those for you, Little Donnie) asked, just vacate the White House. Lock, stock, and barrel. I bet we could top $100 million - quite easily - and Little Donnie could live like a king someplace else. Any place else. Move to mother Russia that you so dearly love. Sell Trump hot dogs. Trump fly swatters. Trump bail bonds..........I don't care. Just LEAVE!
