Trump's personal attorney is 'willing to give info' about the President
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN)Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen has signaled to friends that he is "willing to give" investigators information on the President if that's what they are looking for, and is planning on hiring a new lawyer to handle a possible indictment from federal prosecutors.
"He knows a lot of things about the President and he's not averse to talking in the right situation," one of Cohen's New York friends who is in touch with him told CNN. "If they want information on Trump, he's willing to give it."

He also wants Trump to pay his legal bills.
So much for the guy who "would take a bullet" for Trump. Bullets are one thing. Legal bills and prison are other things, apparently, to the #1 fan of Trump.

(37,648 posts)Trump recently said Cohen had been his lawyer for a while, but he hadn't seen him in a while, or something like that. Yeah...Michael who?

Indeed, someone just self-deleted the same story!
Honeycombe8
(37,648 posts)I don't think he self-deleted. And your link post has a different headline because it's a different story. This is not that Cohen got a new attorney. This article is that Cohen (Trump's personal attorney) is going to flip. It's official.
I think the headline is confusing, too.

If you read the TPM story in the first post, the TPM story links to the same CNN story, as well as to the Vanity Fair story.
Read it.
Here's a link to the other duplicate that was already deleted.

Mine is not the duplicate post. The other one was.

(2,309 posts)The TPM story links to the same story--click on the link. The TPM story just has a different slant. I found the story 5 hours ago when it was posted and didn't post it, because I checked first.

(37,648 posts)I read your post/the article in it. It's about Cohen hiring a new attorney.
This is a story that the new attorney has actually told the authorities that depending on the deal, Cohen is prepared to give information on Trump. And Cohen's friends are reporting that Cohen has said he WILL. And that Cohen wants Trump to pay his legal bills.
That other post is NOT the same story. It was indeed a "breaking" story on CNN at about 10:42 PM. I think they know when there is new information.

(2,309 posts)The CNN story, which first published over 8 hours ago, then updated, is cited as a source by the TPM story. Click on the Hyperlink to CNN story in that post--it's the 4th word in the 2d paragraph. It links to the same CNN story that you posted. That was one of the two sources for the TPM story.
The 3d paragraph of the TPM story discusses that Cohen might cooperate with the Feds. It just doesn't mention the source.
Consequently, the CNN story is not different other than being expanded. Citing an anonymous source doesn't make it official. TPM mentions that Cohen might cooperate, it just doesn't mention the source.

(16,423 posts)Whatever Cohen rats about Trump, Putin can always say "And now imagine what would happen if I leak what I have on you."
Trump has laundered money for the russian mob. Selling condos in the US far, far above market-value for cash to oligarchs. Now imagine Putin leaking evidence for that to Wikileaks. (Which, btw, operates from servers they have rented from a russian cybercriminal with a Moscow-adress.)
And there is STILL the possibility that the pee-tape is real.

(22,171 posts)effectiveness of Wikileaks is greatly diminished now. People are now very aware of these channels of misinformation and attempts to subvert the will of the people.
Rump doesn't help either, by his constant whining, lying, and moaning about what now is out of his control all of the negative press about him. And what is funny about this? He welcomed all of the news media outlets at first for the free publicity and the like during the 2016 election cycle. Now it has come full circle and is biting his ass off.

(37,648 posts)It was my understanding that he's done business w/the Russians for many years. Wouldn't that mean he'd have knowledge of Trump-Russian interactions? He even traveled to Russia at one point, didn't he, while working on the campaign or during the Trump campaign?

(37,648 posts)or a year max. That would be pretty appealing to me. One year vs. 10 years.
Unless Trump pays his legal bills, he's stuck with those. OR he could sell his expensive real estate properties to pay the bills. I bet the attorneys would seize his assets to pay for the bills.
