Trump Says He Regrets Picking Jeff Sessions For AG: 'So Many Lives Ruined'

Oh look, Donald Trump is attacking his attorney general again.
The president has started his morning Twitter proclamations, having undermined trust in the Inspector General, talked about his disinviting of the Philadelphia Eagles, and alluded to his upcoming summit with North Korea. Trump also bashed Jeff Sessions by blaming him for the Robert Muellers special counsel investigation on Russia.

Trumps anger towards Sessions is hardly new, but this is the second time in a week where he blasted his AG by saying he wouldve never given him the job if he knew Sessions would recuse himself over Russia. Interestingly, Trumps attorney, Rudy Giuliani, recently went against his client by saying he could understand the reasons why Sessions chose to step aside on the Russia matter.

(16,104 posts)It must suck to be the most powerful human on the planet and be so hog-tied when it comes to 'Elf on the Shelf.'
Whoever the Dotard listens to must have told him in no uncertain terms if he fires Sessions, it will end his faux-presidency.
Otherwise, he's just a cowardly, gutless prick.

(22,124 posts)get tired of Rump's mouth, and finally start aggressively going after rump and all of his doings. I would if someone kept mouthing off to me/about me.
So, rump is admitting that he wanted to obstruct justice with this tweet, don't you think? There have been court rulings where tweets were allowed in as evidence.

This spewing from 45 does no good for him. Sessions can't un-recuse himself. Perhaps 45 is trying to get him to resign. Who knows what goes through that ignorant brain of his. Forcing him to resign will still be seen as obstruction.

No-they adore his inhumanity.

(155 posts)such appointment or election mistakes of trumpistas, Nixon loyalists, Bush family voters and conservative ideologues should have penetrated their lack of discernment 60 years ago and to their descendants. These people dont regret. They entrench their vileness over and over again each cycle like an ignored truck tire going flatter each time it rotates.

(32,639 posts)I remember reading it in the media, almost immediately after Sessions was announced as the candidate. Certainly he said it before the Senate confirmation hearings.
Trump's problem is, he had no idea what the word "recusal" meant.

(38,427 posts)To discuss something like this to the country, in this way, is indeed stupid. It is a Trump trick to get Sessions to resign, plain and simple..
This way, Sessions resigns on his own, rather than the embarrassment of Trump firing him. Trump does this. It is so obvious that this is a sign of weakness. No intelligent leader of a major country would carry out firing a major person in his administration this way.
It is true chicken shit in every way..And Trump doesn't even know it. He is too stupid to see what the true meaning of this is. He doesn't give a sh*t, has never given a sh*t, and will never give a sh*t.
