President Donald Trump claimed the special counsel probe of his campaign ties to Russia was totally unconstitutional in one of his most outrageous tweets yet.
The president claimed Monday morning that he had the absolute right to pardon himself, and he followed up that baseless argument by questioning the constitutionality of the special counsel probe.
The appointment of the Special Councel is totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Trump tweeted, misspelling counsel as he has repeatedly done on social media. Despite that, we play the game because I, unlike the Democrats, have done nothing wrong!

As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!

Try it and see what happens. Course, youll have to accept you committed the crimes first. And when SCOTUS rules the pardon invalid, your admission wont be. So, every charge for which you attempt to pardon yourself will be a guilty plea. Do it. Save Mueller some time.

(11,885 posts)After how many years of political witch hunts against Hillary Clinton proved baseless with no charges or criminal acts being uncovered, and he tries to whine about his investigations making baseless claims and accusations speaks loudly how corrupt he really is. Criminals always act this way when they're in the cross hairs of being exposed.

(870 posts)He has promoted divisiveness not only in American among American people, but among the world of nations, his evil has attacked every element of our Nations Governance and Now set sights upon our Systems of Laws and Departments of Justice.
Such an evil one has no bound, when he seeks to spread such evil.
Therefore beware of those who use the image of wealth and the label of title to mislead the people, as we've seen over and over within the ranks of the Right Wing Republican who have consumed the whole of the Right Wing White Evangelican System.
It is the grace that Christ implants in the soul which creates in man enmity against Satan. Without this converting grace and renewing power, man would continue the captive of Satan, a servant ever ready to do his bidding. But the new principle in the soul creates conflict where hitherto had been peace. The power which Christ imparts enables man to resist the tyrant and usurper. Whoever is seen to abhor sin instead of loving it, whoever resists and conquers those passions that have held sway within, displays the operation of a principle wholly from above.
America as we know it was not in origin of design to be led by dictators and tyrants, and Democracy as a system cannot exist to achieve being a true democracy, without "equality of its citizens".
NO MAN IS ABOVE THE LAW.... the continual aims to desecrate our systems and denigrate our legal process, is an act of vile driven by an evil motivation. We have a man in office who is opposite everything this nation has worked to become over a long period of time and through a long history of vile and malice. It will not be turned backwards, nor shall it go forward spreading the vile similar to that of its own past history. We are at the standstill in the crossroads of our time.
We see daily the Spinning and Attacking of everything !!! and its being done from our Highest Office.
The vile of it is horrendous, and it can only be changed by the good in spirit and the good will within the hearts of those who are true to the honest and honorable values which respects the lives of mankind,a and such a stand, is a stand which honor the principles of Gods Truth.
Across America... we should be mobilized to vote out all agents of this evil, it has amassed itself within the Republican System, and that system must be voted out and by all effort abolished within the American Democracy. It has stood and attacked the civility and humanity of American in many ways and many flips and twist for centuries and decades, and its demise is the steps that lead to a greater Democracy in America.

(6,085 posts)Trump and his people approach the pardon (and self-pardon) issues one thin slice at a time. First, it's rumored that he might do it. Then right-wing talking heads start to speculate about how it might be legitimate. Then Trump low-level apparatchiks start to talk about it. Then the upper level people do. Then Trump's counsel does. Then Trump himself does.
Then he does it, because after all this yadda-yadda, it doesn't seem so outrageous anymore.

(82,383 posts)Why then would not investigating the Democrats be "unconstitutional?" He just doesn't think - he just emotes. It is a negative sounding description ("unconstitutional" and all he does is throw it out there. Can't cite any case law, nothing. He wants to be above the law, be the law, and he just isn't. He seriously mistook what the Presidency would mean.
