A progressive veterans advocacy group ripped President Trump's Memorial Day tweet bragging about the economy under his administration.

"Cadet Bone Spurs" is the nickname given to Trump over his multiple Vietnam War draft deferments by Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), a veteran who lost both her legs while serving in Iraq.
VoteVets was responding to Trumps morning tweet, in which he said fallen service members would be very happy with how the country is doing today.
Other social media users also criticized Trump for using the holiday as a way to boast about himself.
VoteVets, which says it supports nearly 500,000 veterans and military families, has often criticized Trump and his policies.

(15,751 posts)that more vet organizations, and vets themselves, would stand up to that Trump Memorial Day crap, like #METO, etc. examples.
Identity politics and hate-based politics are worrisome.

This is just so sad. So disgraceful.

I mean, really, republicans? You put up a crude con man with no honor to be your family-values role model? And to use his bloated ego to piss on our war dead, our POWs and our veterans.
Sick sick sick. Shame on you. Everyone knows.

Just to keep it alive: Kelly Sadler, a special assistant in the communications office, said that McCain's opposition to CIA nominee Gina Haspel "
doesn't matter, he's dying anyway."
The tone is set by the person at the top, and we all know what Cadet Bonespurs said about McCain -- "He's not a war hero. He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."
McCain's going to get the last laugh, though. He's said explicitly and publicly that Donnie Two Scoops is not to be invited to his funeral. Anyone have a guess about how many times that little gem will be mentioned when Senator McCain passes away?

(7,220 posts)And said, "I always wanted one of these". Not "No, I cannot accept this because I did not earn it". Just took it like he didn't even begin to understand what it was for. "I always wanted one of these". From the guy with five draft deferments because of BONE SPURS.
So thanks for pointing out his incredibly callous and tone-deaf twit-clamation, but did anyone expect him to NOT pat HIMSELF on the back on Memorial Day? REALLY???
