Tax law supporters rally for Republicans in tough races

Source: The Hill

Business groups that backed the tax bill are trying to help vulnerable Republican lawmakers by highlighting their work on the issue.

They are running ads in the lawmakers’ districts and partnering with them on events at businesses that have benefited from the tax law.

Prominent business groups for years had dreamed of an overhaul of the tax code that would cut taxes for corporations and small businesses and revamp the U.S.’s system of taxing corporations’ foreign earnings. They said that these changes would allow companies to hire more employees and make new investments to grow their businesses.

At the end of 2017, the dream became a reality, with Trump signing a sweeping tax overhaul into law.

...Trump’s only achievement will start to be reeled back. A LOT of people’s taxes are going up.

Because of this, the business community knows if it wants to profit from this bill, it’s got to be done now. They aren’t hiring or giving raises, they’re buying back stock.

most people aren't stupid enough to fall for the propaganda. And more $$$$ doesn't = more idiots propagandized into voting against their best interests. That's the dose-response relationship that has enabled the kook brothers and their ilk to run this country now.

All they have to hear is "your taxes are too high because there are millions of minorities on welfare."

It's worked for Republicans for 40+ years.

America is the biggest culprit. They took jobs out of this country (and continue to do so) all in the name of the $$$.

They've had their time and screwed it up. Time to give it back to the people. Winning this fall will be a good first step.

If the people's government wants the advise of business, we will ask for it. They can take all their damned lobbyists home with them, too.

Many won’t realize that more is coming out of their pockets than say, two years ago. While pay remains stagnant and the need for an educated workforce (both vocational and university) remains dramatically desperate, consumer prices continue to rise (avg gas prices are at their highest since 2014 https://www.gasbuddy.com/Charts )

So more is coming out of already stagnant wages while the top quintile continues to grab a larger and larger share of the economy.

Your average voter, of any stripe, just doesn’t look that deep and cares more about TV shows and hate.

Won't work as it was exposed for what it really is, a scam on the middle class and the poor, and these republicans are lying through their teeth.

And then highlighting what the tax cut has given them.

Aside from half a free executive membership to Costco.

Besides Trump violating the Iran agreement has already resulted in increased oil (and therefore gasoline) prices.
