Two black men arrested at Starbucks settle with Philadelphia for $1 each

In addition to providing the symbolic $1 settlement, the city of Philadelphia will donate $200,000 to a program to support young entrepreneurs.

Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson were led out of Starbucks in handcuffs on April 12 after they sat in the cafe without ordering anything as they waited for a business associate to join them for a meeting. Their arrest, captured on video, created an uproar and prompted a personal apology from the Starbucks chief executive. The company will close more than 8,000 stores for an afternoon later this month for “racial-bias education” training.

I wonder if it's OK to call a couple of black guys "Mensch." I went to college in Philadelphia and had a lot of Jewish friends while both my roommates were black, but that is one question that never arose, I must admit.

The $1 settlement is from the city. Starbucks settled for an undisclosed sum and I'm guessing it's not peanuts.

are showing so much class. I would hope that it changes things for the better, but there are still deplorables and Nazi's out there who will never be tamed.
