Syria war: 'Iranian personnel among dozens dead' in missile attacks
Source: BBC
Missiles hit a number of military sites in northern Syria on Sunday night, state media say, with unconfirmed reports of dozens of fatalities.
The Syrian military said facilities in Hama and Aleppo provinces were struck.
It did not immediately report any casualties. But a UK-based monitoring group said 26 pro-government fighters were killed, most of them Iranians.
It is not known who was behind the attacks. Western nations and Israel have previously hit sites in Syria.

(7,142 posts)Better be careful here. This looks to me like it could be Jared's ME peace plan, war with Iran.
Is Israel provoking Syria and Iran to start a war, and has Jared promised that the U.S. and Saudi Arabia will back Israel in said war.
Was that last gas attack actually carried out by Assad?
Will Russia back Syria and Iran in said war?
Why is Trump so eager to tear up the Iran peace plan? People better think a bit about what's going on.

(26,060 posts)You're talking about a fucking madman - al assad is an animal who doesn't care about his people at all and has been killing them for years without any assist from Israel or anyone else. Nobody hates donnie as much as I do but the thought he's responsible for what's been going on Syria - which has been going on since long before donnie descended that escalator a couple of years ago, is simple minded BS. There are two sides in Syria - al assad and isis - both suck, both are killing machines and neither of them give a flying fuck about donald trump or his son in law.

(7,142 posts)I also agree that Assad has been killing his own people.
I never said that Trump was responsible for what's going on in Syria, but we are involved as are a lot of other countries, it's not just about 2 sides. I am no expert but it seems to me that Assad has pretty much won his civil war, that's why it doesn't make sense to me why he would "cross Donnie's red line" and gas his people, "again."
Does it make sense to you?
With so many proxy countries fighting in Syria, (not just 2 factions) I can see the possibility of a war developing between the proxies, can't you? When our troops killed the 200 Russian mercenaries, and rightly so, that wasn't just about Assad and ISIS was it? Iranian troops were just killed in Syria will they retaliate? Will Donnie pull our troops out of Syria and abandon the Kurds to the Turks? I don't just put it on Donnie, Obama was pals with Saudi Arabia too. All I'm saying is that we are aligned with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel and I can envision that alignment can push us to war with Iran and tearing up the peace plan is tinder for the fire.

(23,946 posts)Israel killing Iranians, no biggie, but anyone killing Israelis....oh, boy. The hypocrisy reeks on an industrial scale.
Seems only America, Israel and Saudi get to snub international law with utter impunity.
