President Trump threatened on Saturday to "shut down the country" an apparent reference to a government shutdown unless Congress approves funding for his long-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
In a fiery campaign-style speech, Trump lashed out at Democratic lawmakers for opposing his pledge to build the border wall, and said that once government funding runs out at the end of September he would call for a so-called shutdown.
"We have to have borders and we have to have them fast and we need security, we need the wall," Trump said at the rally in Washington, Michigan.
"That wall has started. We got $1.6 billion. We come up again on Sept. 28 and if we dont get border security, well have no choice. Well close down the country. Because we need border security."

(36,857 posts)How to Build Trumps Wall - Privatize It
Republicans have often found a way to tax people surreptitiously by privatizing many public works projects to corporations rather than have govt pay for it. A fee/toll is a tax under another name.
The corporations/investors are granted a multi-year license with a guaranteed profit.
This could also be done with Trumps Wall with Mexico.
Corporations/investors front the money to build it and they will be paid by Mexico.
It gives republicans a chance to save the govt money by investing in it and show their confidence in Trumps word that Mexico will pay for it .
No govt backed bonds.
No cost to the govt,,, no need for taxes,,, profit for the patriotic investors who believe in Trump.
Win win all around.
Even Trump can show his patriotism and shrewd business savvy by investing in it.

(23,138 posts)and fuck over the entire country, especially the military, because I didn't get my way. Just goes to show the utter emptiness of his security claims that he's willing to jeopardize our entire military to build a wall to stop the flow of immigrants that's already been thinned to a trickle. Who wants to emigrate and live in a hate filled USA stolen by drumpf and his Ruskie pals?

Not going to happen. Theyd be cutting their own throats and tossing their careers down the toilet.
