Several people have been been killed in the city of Muenster, in western Germany after a van drove into pedestrians.

The driver of the vehicle has killed himself, police said.

About 30 people are reported injured in the incident, which occurred near the Kiepenkerl statue in the old town. Some are said to be in a serious condition.

Police have asked people to avoid the city centre.

Funny how the interest in this story died when it became known a white nationalist was the culprit. marble falls Apr 2018 #16

However, I refuse to write a screed excusing Muslims (if this is what happened). We shouldn’t have to. They shouldn’t have to excuse themselves. They’re an arbitrary group of humans that have an unfortunate subgroup of unsavory people in their ranks - that sounds like every human group possible.

Whatever happened, it’s a tragedy. Let’s leave it at that (despite those who love these events because they help promote their own bigoted agendas).

niche in humanity. And that there's fewer of them every day because they can't possibly reproduce quicker than they die. I mean, how many people sophisticated enough to hold degrees in engineering yet committed enough to take control of and purposely of aforethought fly a passenger jet into a building can there possibly be as a subset of humanity?

And then I come to my senses and realize that Cheetolini is out shopping even as we type right now for a war to twitter himself into while sitting on the shitter one night at 4:30AM.

No group in the world is more subject to acts of terrorism than are Muslims anywhere on this planet.

For example:

In the beginning, they were known as die Dönermorde – the kebab murders. The victims had little in common, apart from immigrant backgrounds and the modest businesses they ran. The first to die was Enver Şimşek, a 38-year-old Turkish-German man who ran a flower-import company in the southern German town of Nuremberg. On 9 September 2000, he was shot inside his van by two gunmen, and died in hospital two days later.

The following June, in the same city, 49-year-old Abdurrahim Özüdoğru was killed by two bullets while helping out after hours in a tailor’s shop. Two weeks later, in Hamburg, 500km north, Süleyman Taşköprü, 31, was shot three times and died in his greengrocer’s shop. Two months later, in August 2001, greengrocer Habil Kılıç, 38, was shot twice in his shop in the Munich suburbs.

The crime scenes indicated that the killers favoured a particular killing method. Typically, several shots were fired at close range to the face. Most of the bullets were traced back to a single weapon, a silenced Česká CZ 83 pistol. Police assumed that the professional method of killing, as well as the intimate nature of the murders – when they died, the victims were presumably looking directly into the eyes of their killers – meant that the murders must have been carried out by Turkish gangsters fighting out turf battles. No hard evidence ever substantiated this theory. Nevertheless, the taskforce assigned by the German authorities to the case was given the name “Bosphorus”.

But almost all of the perpetrators of those acts are also Muslim.
Simply because THOSE muslims aren't doing it right, according to the killers, they get killed

They don't need evidence.
It's unusual in terror attacks for the perpetrator to kill themselves using some other method. Usually they either die doing it, or they survive and get arrested. This is a new one. It's not terribly different than the daily mass shootings here.

If something like this happened here, Der Trumpenfuhrer and his legion of knuckle-dragging deplorables would be screaming for another 6 inches to be added to this.mythical border wall these idiots think is going to be built. Fools.

Matching reports from several German media outlets said the attacker was a man aged around 48 with psychological problems. Television news reported that he had recently attempted suicide and made known that he planned a more spectacular attempt.

Several reports pointed to a past of petty crime and drug dealing.

The man was employed as an industrial product designer and struggled with problems at work.

Broadcaster ZDF said he had known connections with far-right organisations, while new website Spiegel Online reported an assault rifle was found at his Muenster apartment close to the scene of the crime.
