The White House said Tuesday it is cooperating with Congress Russia investigation, despite communications director Hope Hickss reported refusal to answer certain questions from the House Intelligence Committee.
"I'm not going to comment on any individual's interactions with the committee, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said when asked whether the White House directed Hicks not to answer certain questions.
We are cooperating because, as the president said repeatedly, there is no collusion," Sanders added.
Intelligence panel members from both parties said Hicks declined to answer questions about events and conversations that took place since President Trumps inauguration.

White House blasts Senate Dems' 'historic obstruction' on nominees
BY LISA HAGEN - 02/27/18 02:49 PM EST
The White House on Tuesday slammed Senate Democrats for what it claimed to be historic obstruction to President Trumps nominees compared to previous administrations.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders blamed Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) for blocking Trumps nominees, noting that half of them are still waiting for Senate confirmation.
Compared to the four past administrations, this Senate has confirmed the fewest nominees, Sanders told reporters at Tuesdays briefing. Sen. Schumers tactics led to 73 fewer confirmations than the next closest administration.
Critics have noted that Trump has yet to name nominees for 225 positions that require confirmation by the Senate, according to an analysis from The Washington Post. There are a total of 638 positions that need Senate confirmation.

(12,592 posts)And like everything else he does, Trump has other people do the dirty work. He has Bannon and Hope Hicks give only the answers he wants them to, without his asserting executive privilege. That way he can say he's cooperating without actually doing so.
