In Russia probes, Republicans draw red line at Trump's finances

Source: CNN

Top Republicans on Capitol Hill have made a concerted decision in their Russia inquiries: They are staying away from digging into the finances of President Donald Trump and his family.

Six Republican leaders of key committees told CNN they see little reason to pursue those lines of inquiry or made no commitments to do so -- even as Democrats say determining whether there was a financial link between Trump, his family, his business and Russians is essential to understanding whether there was any collusion in the 2016 elections.

Republicans have resisted calls to issue subpoenas for bank records, seeking Trump's tax returns or sending letters to witnesses to determine whether there were any Trump financial links to Russian actors -- calling the push nothing more than a Democratic fishing expedition.

...snip...

"I think the allegations on money laundering are credible enough that we ought to, in the exercise of due diligence, see if this was one of the other vectors of the Russian active measures campaign," California Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence panel, said earlier this month. "To me, that is far more potentially compromising than any salacious video would be."

his Russian money laundering and shine light on why Russia wanted him to occupy the Oval Office. How much have the Russians paid GOP leadership to stifle Mueller? They fear being exposed for what they are, traitors to the American people. If they were indeed not guilty, they would want everything exposed to clear Trump's good name a reputation as well as their own.

I had to take the "mobile." part out of the URL (you might consider making that edit when you post twitter links). Then as is the usual case multiple images / videos are just blank spots (I don't allow cookies at Twitter because they don't need to keep a record of what I've seen and share it with their numerous business partners).

we know of at least 8 people there, and one purportedly a couple floors away in the same suite.

Where's Mueller team on Russian-American Ike Kaveladze? He's been in trouble before for money laundering, Congress has interviewed him, and Mueller "contacted."

We've heard about Russian Natalia Veselnitskaya.

But how about Russian-American Rinat Akhmetshin (and the Agalarov family, who were not there but whom he reported to)?

Russian-born American Anatoli Samochornov, Vesel-etc's translator?

Supposedly the senate intelligence committee has interviewed all the Russian-Americans and Russian Vesel-etc, but how Mueller? The meeting generated emails to various other people before and after, most subpoena-able. Are they all securely tucked in Mueller's pocket?

"Draw your lines" all you want, Vichy pubs.

can these scumbags be indicted for obstruction of justice or dereliction of duty or at least voted out of office?

I mean the Trump hotel in Panama is under investigation for laundering money for drug cartels. They have decided it is in their best political interests to stay on the Trump Titanic.

Of course Mueller is going to go there but if Trump and his enablers remove Mueller it's going to make it that much harder to nail Trump.

These bastards are evil and shameless. It takes a lot of guts to go on TV and flat out lie like Devin Nunes is doing. A heck of a lot of people in his district still like him, he may very well win reelection.

Mueller needs to come out with overwhelming evidence against the Trump crime syndicate and he needs to do it before the election.

and for a host of reasons they don't want to look into Trumpenstein's financial records. Since these republiscum lead committees never find anything (save Hillary did it, Obama didn't do enough, ad nauseam...) who cares what they do?

Well, Mueller and the FBI do!

Further, I believe with the November elections, they are scared shitless way too much will come out before then and further hurt the now damaged party. Any delay of bad news is good for them...which is why I hope Mueller issues ALL of his indictments by no later than say July 1, giving us plenty of time to hurt them badly at the polls!

be any different from every other aspect of his crooked life? Filled with the gray areas, questionable areas and down right illegal areas of law breaking? If he released his tax returns he would lie and justify every bit of criminality entered on those lines in the reforms. If ONE line was legal, accurate and legitimate THAT would be the line he uses to justify "hey, see, nothing here, another big nothing burger from the Dems". F this guy, just do it by the Mueller rule of law. Grand juries at the STATE level so he can't pardon himself and the money grubbing group around him and his family. Cohen for sure deserves 20+ years in the slam along with his meth carrying bodyguard.
