New charges filed in Manafort-Gates case

New charges have been filed in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's criminal case against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and aide Rick Gates, but the charges were put under seal by the court, obscuring the nature and import of the development.

The new charging document filed in federal court in Washington could be a superseding indictment, adding new charges or even new defendants to the charges filed last October, accusing Manafort and Gates of money laundering and failing to register as foreign agents for their work related to Ukraine, among other crimes.

Last week, prosecutors told the court they'd received new evidence that Manafort took part in "a series of bank frauds and bank fraud conspiracies" in connection with a loan he sought in 2016. Mueller's team said Manafort obtained the loan using “doctored profit and loss statements” that overstated "by millions of dollars" the income of his consulting business.

The bank fraud allegations were disclosed in a bail-related court filing made public on Friday that did not contain any indication of what action, if any, Mueller's team planned to take over the alleged fraud.

5. They're not as forthcoming as Mueller wants because they'r more afraid of Russia than of the FBI.

Mueller's got add-on "new evidence" ready because these two won't directly implicate any Russians or Trump.

If they did, they know they'd be dead.

6. Gates has flipped, so he pleads guilty to a lesser charge

... and gets a lower sentence. But does he have enough info to bring down Manafort? Most likely!

Will Manafort flip and bring down Trump? I don't know but we'll soon see.
Maybe Gates has enough to bring down Trump without Manafort's testimony.
Wouldn't that be awesome!

7. Follow the money

Emperor Trump and those closest to him have lived for the dollar as evidence by his many $ adventures in the past 50 years but that same love for the dollar is going to be his and his families downfall. Trump appears to not be regulated by empathy or even have a conscience so there are many things he has done illegally in the pursuit of the almighty dollar but one thing about money is it leaves an incontrovertible document trail.

First people will sour on Trump because of his greed, dishonesty and sexual violations then the Special Council will get serious and show the documents and charge the family with financial crimes the Trump deplorables will find somebody else to follow and America will heal and be stronger for it. I hope

8. Indictment sealed... hmmmm.....

What possible reason could there be for that I wonder?

If these were just enhanced charges against manafort, it wouldn't make sense unless you were just trying to rattle someone else.

But a bigger fish must be in that net. We can hope anyway.
