The military parade proposed by President Donald Trump could cost between $10 million and $30 million, depending on the length, Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney told the House Budget Committee on Wednesday. Last week, Defense Secretary James Mattis said the Pentagon was "putting together some options" on the parade. Democrats have criticized the idea.

UPDATE

‘A disgrace’: Dem rips Mulvaney over $30 million Trump parade that would fund food stamps for 20,000

Budget Director Mick Mulvaney revealed on Wednesday that a military parade requested by President Donald Trump could cost as much as $30 million — enough to fund food stamps for over 20,000 people each year.

At a House budget hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) noted that Trump’s proposed budget cuts funds for some of the most vulnerable Americans.

“This budget is really shameful,” Lee explained. “It dismantles our basic living standards that Americans have turned to for decades and pushes millions of people into poverty. It will destroy people’s lives.”

Lee reminded Mulvaney that his budget cuts $213 billion from the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps. In addition, the budget slashes billions from disability, rental assistance, adult employment and training programs, education, Medicaid, and the minority AIDS program.

why not just drive the flatbeds with the tanks on them by? Much easier on both the roads and the tanks.

Or you can shit on a couple hundred thousand GIs for the same money.

Trump has chosen the latter.

BTW, as a Berlin veteran and quite knowledgeable of the realities of parading tracked vehicles, I suggest they add another $10 million for new track pads and $5 million for baby oil to their shopping list. Trump is going to want nice shiny tanks; they’re painted in flat paint so you have to rub baby oil into the paint and it takes about five gallons to do a tank the first time. And asphalt just chews the shit out of the rubber pads on armored vehicle tracks.
