LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Controversial conservative commentator Milo Yiannopoulos is scheduled to speak at UCLA later this month on the topic "10 Things I Hate About Mexico."
Yiannopoulos was invited to speak on campus by the school's Bruin Republicans.
The group wrote in a Facebook post explaining the event: "The debate on immigration often only focuses on the impact immigration has on America, but ignores the root causes of why people are leaving Mexico to come here. Does Mexico do enough for its people?"

(3,435 posts)security or do they reimburse college campuses, if not then regardless if it's racist propagandista kkknazi groups or Mother Teresa or Pope Frank himself, everyone is required to pay and provide security or seek another venue...The liability is far to great a cost than having hate groups, to be fair must treat all groups equally.

(58,785 posts)It's really a good thing overall. University students aren't stupid, they're not children to be protected, and they really do need to know about bad people trying to do bad things.
This'll backfire on this group also. If my son were a "Bruin Republican," I'd worry about it hurting him. Employers search backgrounds on line now, searching for indications of personality and character. At very least he'd need to keep activities with this group off his resume.
Btw, this creep doesn't actually have to claim freedom of speech. Our liberal Declaration of Independence claims universal principles meant to apply all men, not just card-carrying Americans.
