NAPLES, Fla. (AP) Officials say a Florida circuit judge has resigned after being arrested in a prostitution sting.
A 20th Judicial Circuit spokeswoman confirmed Judge Jay B. Rosman's resignation on Tuesday. The News-Press reports that Rosman and five other men were arrested Friday during a Naples police prostitution operation.
Police say the 64-year-old Rosman arranged to meet an undercover officer at a hotel and agreed to pay $300 for a sex act. The Fort Myers-area judge was instead placed under arrest.
Rosman's attorney says resigning was the best decision for his family.

(3,191 posts)Bring the people involved out of the shadows, get them out from under the thumb of abusive pimps and provide protection from abusive johns, and arrange for them to have regular testing for STDs. If it's a consensual transaction between two adults, I don't see an issue with it. Keeping it illegal only harms the people involved.
As an aside, I'm a bit curious about this judge's political leanings. What's the betting that he's a Bible-banging "family values" Republican? Anyone willing to take that bet?
