Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) on Monday said President Trump’s morning tweet accusing Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) of being a leaker is “an embarrassment on the international stage.”

“This is the president of the United States. This is just an embarrassment. It’s an embarrassment on the international stage,” Bass told CNN’s “New Day.” “And I think that he is showing exactly what the purpose of the memo is.”

Bass’s criticism of Trump comes after the president slammed Schiff on Twitter, alleging that the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee leaks “confidential information.”

“Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper!” the president wrote on Twitter. “Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!”
