Exclusive poll: GOP turns on FBI

Source: Axios

President Trump's hammering on the FBI — and green-lighting yesterday of the Russia memo's release over Bureau objections — is having a profound effect:

A SurveyMonkey poll for Axios finds that not even 40% of Republicans approve of America's main federal law enforcement agency — a stunning turn for the law-and-order party.

Why it matters: Trump, who earlier turned a huge swath of Republicans toward more favorable opinions of Russia, has now turned his party against his own FBI.

The numbers: FBI approval in the SurveyMonkey Poll, taken over the past two days, is 64% among Democrats and just 38% among Republicans. Unfavorable opinion of the FBI: 47% in the GOP; 14% among Ds.

All of a sudden Axios is being sourced a lot.

Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware.

Do the research

Axios (stylized as AXIOS) is an American news and information website founded in 2016 by Politico co-founder Jim VandeHei, Politico's former Chief White House correspondent Mike Allen, and former Politico Chief Revenue Officer Roy Schwartz. The site's name, based on the term Greek: ἄ???? (áxios), "worthy", officially launched in 2017

I don't see anything in your post which disputes the poll. I don't see anything in your post that explains why you do not trust Axios.

On the other hand, the poll results given align fairly well with those reported by CNN about a month ago:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/02/politics/poll-fbi-republican-ratings-fall/index.html

While 62% of Republicans gave the FBI "excellent" or "good" marks in a 2014 survey from Gallup, just 49% say the same now. The agency is the only one of 13 tested whose ratings among Republicans have worsened compared with 2014.

That was from a Gallup poll conducted Dec 2017:
http://news.gallup.com/poll/224804/republicans-push-government-agency-ratings-not-fbi.aspx

It does not seem unreasonable to expect a 9 point drop in approval since then, due to the increased attacks on the FBI by trumpanzees.

Sat Feb 3, 2018, 12:13 PM
Feb 2018

Personally, I believe that simply choosing to live in that universe shows a certain level of stupidity. But unfortunately it's true that many people limit their exposure to news to sources that fit with ideas they already hold. (As for me, I tend to skim a lot of RW sources to see what ideas they're pushing. But I know RWers who aren't stupid per se -- their IQs are fairly high -- but who simply can't emotionally handle listening to other points of view.) So even a lot of people who seem pretty reasonable on many subjects can be so limited -- self-limited -- in their understanding of politics that they're easily persuaded by RW propaganda.

They have Fox, they have countless RW websites...and they have RW talk radio, which should never be underestimated, with its round-the-clock brainwashing of listeners.

The former law and order "patriot" party has now turned on the rule of law in obedience to a foreign dictators wishes.

The republican party is a party of traitors that wants to overthrow the Constitution and rule of law for chaos and dictatorship.

Trump and his cult are a clear and president danger to this country. It will be a miracle if we make it 4 years with this Russian asset in power at the White House.
