Husband of former Trump household aide scores government job
Source: Politico
A home improvement contractor married to one of Donald and Melania Trumps former household staffers is now working as an official at the Environmental Protection Agency, the latest example of someone with a personal connection to the Trump family finding work in the administration.
New Jersey-based Steve Kopec joined EPAs Region 2 office in New York as a special assistant on Dec. 18, according to a memo obtained by POLITICO. Steve comes to us from private industry, where he fashioned his career around customer service and organizational efficiencies, EPA Region 2 Administrator Pete Lopez wrote in the memo. Steve is an experienced manager with skills in team building, management and organization.
According to public records, Kopec previously ran a contracting business from his home in Haskell, New Jersey, called Steves Tools in Motion. Kopecs wife, Dagmara, previously worked for the Trump family in New York, according to a person familiar with her situation.
Photographs posted on Facebook in recent months show the Kopecs visiting the White House and mingling with senior administration officials.

(19,204 posts)Trump stiffed this guy on some toilet bowl repairs, and gave him a no-show, highly paid position in government to make up for it. Either that or Trump was doing his wife on the side.

(12,660 posts)His parents settled in the US after WWII -along with a rather large Polish contingent that followed an exiled Polish Princess to San Diego in the mid '40s. His parents still had problems with English; he lived with them to help keep their affairs in order and was always having to check on them when we were on Drill.

(15,286 posts)"Connected" people showing up in gov't offices is a lot more common than you might think. I met my share of retired senior executives or military who left on a Friday and showed back up at the office Monday in a new job.
