President Donald Trump is not worried that FBI Director Christopher Wray will resign if the White House approves the release of a controversial intelligence memo alleging misconduct by bureau officials, Kellyanne Conway said Friday.

The counselor to the president was responding to reports that top White House aides fear a potential resignation from Wray. During the interview, Conway reasserted the president’s confidence in the law enforcement agency.

“The president has not expressed that concern at all,” Conway told Fox News, adding that the president holds respect for the “rank and file” employees at the FBI.

Wray and the FBI expressed “grave concerns” on Wednesday over the pending release of a memo compiled by staffers for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes that alleges the bureau was overzealous in its probe on Russian election interference.
